First things first… Happy New Year from my family to yours!  We are already driving into this new year and we aren’t looking back.

Do you have a resolution?  Word of the year?

Goals for this new year?

Let me tell you a secret.  Shhh….. I don’t have any of that planned out.  My inner teacher is freaking out because I don’t even have a 2018 planner. Guess what?  I survived the first day of the year just fine.  Actually it was nice not stressing about eating correctly or not completing a task that HAD to be done just because the date changed.  To tell  you the truth, I’m hiding from the holidays and waiting for them to go away and “normalcy” to come back.

I did think about a “word” a couple of weeks ago.  All I came up with is “go.”  What does this mean?  Do I want to “go” traveling more?  Do I want to “go” to the bathroom alone?  Yes!

GO

My husband and I sat down to discuss the new year and what it would look like for our family.  He mentioned traveling more and I agree with him. Go may be THE word!  Although, traveling with three kids may be the death of me.  I wrote a post a few months ago about traveling with and without kids, and how it looks for us.   I know traveling is part of who we are as a family, and will continue to go exploring with them in tow.  It will look different with a newborn.  Just imagine all the junk, essentials, small kids need.

Dustin is working on another level of his pilot’s license and he is itching to fly more. Some places we may go include Disney, Branson, and Utah .  I have never been to Disney, and I’m hyperventilating. It stresses me thinking about a theme park with 3 kids, ages three and under.  We are wanting to go the week of Mardi Gras.  Yes, that is next month. Please send me all the tips and tricks!

Am I crazy?  Wait… don’t answer that!

Branson is suppose to be kid friendly as well.  Utah looks beautiful…not much thought on that one. So let me know if you are from or have been to these places.  We will be spending time in Canada this July for a wedding and New York to visit family. Other than that we have no definite plans.  Where do you think we should go with and/or without kids? I would love you to chime in and let me know.

I’m still not set on go as the word of the year. This I do know…  I’m wanting to plan more goals for myself as a creative.  I have so many ideas and things I want to do for myself and my local community.  So the best thing for me to do is sit down and write down the big goals.  Then make smaller goals to help achieve the bigger ones. baby stepping it  I remember when I first signed up for a half-marathon.  It was daunting to think about running 13.1 miles.  If I just broke it down into weekly goals it was more attainable.

I snapped this photo yesterday and then it hit me. You have this!  Wipe away the things that weren’t good and keep on moving on!!

Do you have a resolution, word, or goal? Let me know in the comments, so I can cheer you on.

I’ve had a hard time coming up with a word of the year for myself, too! Last year I chose “bloom”, and I loved that and it fit the year really well. This year I’m just drawing a blank! I’m pregnant with my fifth and really riding myself drawn inward as I prepare for this huge change, so I’m leaning toward the word “rest” but I’m not sure yet. Hoping to work it out in my Powersheets planner this week!

Bloom is a great word to center a year around. Wow, your 5th! I was talking to someone the other day about words and goals. She was saying to do them monthly to make it easier. Rest would definitely need to be incorporated! Tell me more about tour power sheets.

They’re from Cultivate What Matters. I used their goal planner last year and loved it! You can get 6 months or a whole year, and you chose 10 goals. I love that it breaks my goals into manageable chunks.

Well first off…don’t forget Austin in Feb! LOL Second, go to Disney without the kids. Seriously. No guilt. Don’t tell them where you are going. Ha! You and Dustin go and have fun…go on all the rides you want to that you won’t be able to go on when you have the kids…eat all the fun foods…watch the fireworks. Then, take the kids later when they are older and can enjoy it. Trust me, I know what I’m talking about. 🙂

YESSS one person on my side! I may knock my kids down to get in line with the characters. Also, Austin is right around the corner and I’m ready to see everyone.

Hey Chelse I just found your blog through a friend on fb and really cute! I don’t have kids yet but I’ve been married 4 years and we are thinking of having them soon. So as far as traveling I’ve been to branson, Utah and even worked at Disney so any advice you need I’m willing to help. Branson is fun for kids, I would say Utah is beautiful but later when they are old enough to hike and appreciate the wonders and I read someone else’s comment about disney. Def go by yourselves first and bring the kids when all of them are old enough to walk and go to the bathroom lol. And don’t ever go during the summer or spring break. Go in the fall if you can its a lot cooler, less people and the they have decorations up for the holidays.

I’m so glad you found me! Feel free to “pin” anything to your Pinterest for a later date. Holy moly you worked at Disney!?!? I would love to chat more about your adventures there. Glad you mentioned hiking. Hiking with kids would be, well, tough. Yeah another vote for solo Disney vacation and didn’t think about the bathroom situation. Where would you recommend staying when we go to Disney?
Thank you so much for your advice!

Yes I will def pin for later. And yes I was a public relations major at ul and needed an internship and Disney came to the school so I thought that sounds perfect. They put me in merchandise at Hollywood studios so I basically sold star wars and cars toys to kids so that part was ok but living there for 6 months was fun. Since I didn’t stay in the hotels it would be hard for me to pick but I know the cheapest that most people stay at are pop century and all star hotels. Plus if you stay on property you have free transportation which is nice. But trust me I’ve been enough times to Disney that I could create an itinerary of where to go and eat for sure. 🙂 I’m trying to go back fall of 2019 bc they will have new parts of the park open that I haven’t seen. If you have any more specific questions let me know and maybe one day you can help me with the whole having a kid thing. Right now we are just traveling the world while we can.

WOW! Okay, I can see staying on site would be perfect with kids. I think the boys would love the All Star hotel and will definitely need food recommendations. I would be SO happy to tell you all about kids. BUT the secret is… I am learning as I go, and these boys aren’t the same. I will take up on the trade!
